FOUNDR.

CORPORATE MENStruAL ACTIVIST.

THIS didn’t start as a business.

For over 25 years, my life was high performance.

I built a million-dollar independent agency and led some of Australia’s most recognisable Better-for-You brands as Founder and Executive Creative Director of Tuckshop Agency.

From the outside, it looked successful.
Behind that, it felt very different.

Something wasn’t adding up
— Cara Richardson, CEO, Founder

A decade ago, I was clinically diagnosed with oestrogen dominance.

What followed was anxiety, coupled with fluctuating capacity, and a growing sense that the way I was working wasn’t sustainable. I struggled to manage my personal performance, in spite of being an executive leader.

Working in alignment with my cycle shifted everything.

Through Menstrual Cycle Awareness, I began to understand the relationship between my cycle and my capacity to think and communicate.

My creativity improved and decision-making became clearer.
More importantly, I was able to stabilise my energy and nervous system overload.

It wasn’t because I was doing more, but because I understood when to reset, and when to go.

The question that followed

What happens when this is applied inside a business?

I began experimenting inside my agency.

We introduced cyclical support days.
We adapted expectations around capacity.
We worked with our executive senior leaders to create more responsive ways of working.

What became clear was that this wasn’t just relevant to menstruators.

All humans experience cycles.
Most workplaces are designed as if we don’t.

Designing for cyclical performance wasn’t just supportive. It was commercially effective.

Decision-making improved, creativity increased and performance became more sustainable.

Cycle Positive was built from that realisation. Not as a wellbeing initiative.
But as a performance conversation.

Today, I work with organisations and leadership teams to integrate cyclical intelligence into regenerative performance culture.

This work is grounded in my training as a certified menstruality educator.

While conversations around menstruation and menopause are entering the workplace, most approaches still focus on support when people are struggling.

I take a different position.

Cyclical intelligence is not a limitation to manage.
It is a performance advantage to design for.
